Kitchen Renovation, Golders Green

A full kitchen renovation in a four-bedroom 1930s house in Golders Green, replacing an outdated kitchen with a bespoke painted Shaker kitchen designed to a kosher-compliant layout with separated meat and dairy preparation areas. Completed in 7 weeks.

Project Type

Kitchen Renovation

Duration

7 weeks

Project Value

£48,000

The Challenge

The clients required a fully kosher-compliant kitchen with separated meat and dairy preparation zones, separate sinks, separate ovens, and separate dishwashers — a layout requirement that is significantly more complex than a standard kitchen and requires careful coordination with the client's rabbi during the design phase. The kitchen space was L-shaped with a low ceiling on the short leg.

Our Solution

We coordinated the kitchen design directly with the rabbi to ensure the zones and separation met halachic requirements before any cabinetry was ordered. The layout placed the dairy zone on the long leg and the meat zone on the short leg, with a clear visual and physical separation between them. The low-ceiling section was resolved with low-height wall units and a bespoke pelmet that concealed the lighting.

Results

  • Kitchen design confirmed as kosher-compliant by supervising rabbi
  • Separate meat and dairy zones — physically and visually distinct
  • Two separate sinks, two ovens, two dishwashers installed
  • Low-ceiling short leg resolved with pelmet and low-height units
  • Bespoke painted Shaker kitchen with Quartz worktops throughout
  • Neff appliances to both zones — two separate circuits
  • Engineered oak herringbone flooring throughout kitchen
