Design & professional FAQs

Design and professional briefs need a clear problem statement before drawings, calculations or surveys are programmed. These answers describe the process without inventing fixed fees.

How do design briefs start?▼
Describe the decision you need supported — loft design, extension, reconfiguration, interior layout, structural calculation or survey purpose. Photographs and any existing drawings accelerate triage.
Do you only do design, or design-and-build?▼
Both routes can be discussed. Design-only briefs stay in the professional scope; design-and-build coordination routes accepted build phases through Hampstead Renovations when that fits capacity.
When is a structural engineer needed?▼
Openings in load-bearing walls, loft conversions, extensions and movement investigations often need calculations. We confirm the professional route for the accepted problem statement rather than assuming every alteration needs the same package.
How are professional fees confirmed?▼
Fees depend on deliverables, property complexity and programme. Where we can quote, the written document states inclusions, assumptions and exclusions before work is programmed.
