The brief and property
The existing bathroom was significantly over-specified with a jacuzzi bath and multiple jets that had been installed through the structural floor — removal required careful structural investigation. The existing pipework was in lead and required full replacement. The clients specified large-format Calacatta marble which required careful substrate preparation to prevent any deflection cracking.
Work completed
A structural engineer assessed the floor joists for the new freestanding bath load. Lead pipework was fully replaced with copper throughout the bathroom and riser. The substrate was prepared for the large-format marble, which was laid with matched veining for a book-matched appearance.
