The Challenge

The rear of the Victorian terrace was in a mixed-use street with both residential and light commercial neighbours. One neighbour operated a small business that received deliveries, and site access for materials and skips required careful management to avoid conflict. The proposed extension depth also triggered a Party Wall notice with the property to the rear, which initially raised concerns about the impact on their light.

Our Solution

A carefully planned site logistics schedule was produced before works began, coordinating deliveries and skip placements with the neighbouring business's schedule. The party wall surveyor produced a right-to-light assessment that confirmed the extension would not materially affect the rear neighbour's daylight. The award was agreed in 3 weeks. Camden approved the planning application in 7 weeks.
