The brief and property
The existing bathroom layout placed the bath under the window and the WC awkwardly against the door — the clients wanted to completely rearrange the layout to a more functional configuration. Rearranging the layout required all the waste pipes to be re-routed across the floor void. The floor void was shallow and the drain run was close to the minimum fall before reaching the soil stack.
Work completed
A drainage survey confirmed the fall was achievable at the minimum 1:40 gradient with careful routing. We re-routed all wastes within the shallow floor void using MUPVC with flexible couplings at the junctions. The new layout placed the shower in the corner with a wetroom screen, the freestanding bath under the window, and the WC against the opposite wall — a far better use of the room.
