General Questions

What areas do you cover?
We serve NW London — primarily the NW3, NW6, and NW8 postcodes — and surrounding areas within approximately 15 miles of Hampstead. This includes Hampstead, Belsize Park, St John's Wood, Primrose Hill, West Hampstead, Swiss Cottage, Maida Vale, and many more neighbourhoods.
Are your tradespeople fully insured?
Yes. All tradespeople working under the Hampstead On Demand umbrella carry full public liability insurance (minimum £2 million). For employed staff, we also carry employer's liability insurance.
How do I get a quote?
You can get a quote by: (1) submitting a request through our online system at https://www.hampsteadondemand.co.uk/app/new, or (2) calling us on +44 20 8054 8756. We respond to all quote requests during business hours, typically within a few hours.
Are your quotes fixed-price?
Yes. All our quotes are fixed-price — what we quote is what you pay. If the scope of work changes during the project, we agree any variation with you before proceeding. We never present surprise invoices.
What guarantee do you provide on work?
All our workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from completion. If anything goes wrong as a result of our work within that period, we return and fix it at no charge.
Do you work on period and listed properties?
Yes. We have extensive experience with NW London's Victorian, Edwardian, and Georgian housing stock. For listed buildings and conservation area properties, we understand the relevant planning and consent requirements.
How quickly can you respond to emergency call-outs?
Our average emergency response time across NW London is 47 minutes. We operate 24/7 for genuine emergencies — burst pipes, flooding, boiler failure in winter, lockouts, and other urgent situations.
Do you handle planning permission applications?
Our architect and planning consultant partners can handle planning applications for extensions, loft conversions, basement conversions, and other projects. We assess permitted development rights as part of our initial survey.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept BACS bank transfer, debit and credit cards, and cash. For larger projects, we typically require a stage payment schedule agreed in advance.
Are you Gas Safe registered?
Yes. All engineers carrying out gas-related work — boiler installations, servicing, gas appliance fitting — are Gas Safe registered. We can provide registration numbers on request.
